OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 15R, positioning it as the company's latest performance-centric smartphone. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's advanced 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It is equipped with a large 7,400mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging. The OnePlus 15R features a dual rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, along with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. 

The OnePlus 15R is a dual-SIM smartphone running Android 16-based OxygenOS 16. OnePlus has committed to providing four major Android OS updates and six years of security updates for the device. It features a 6.83-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272 × 2,800 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The display supports a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, offers a pixel density of 450 ppi, and includes features such as Sun Display for enhanced outdoor visibility, Reduce White Point, Motion Cues, and Eye Comfort Reminders. 

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor with a peak clock speed of 3.8GHz. It is complemented by an Adreno 8-series GPU, up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, and advanced components such as the G2 Wi-Fi chip and a dedicated Touch Response Chip. The device also boasts comprehensive dust and water resistance with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. 

OnePlus 15R

On the imaging front, the OnePlus 15R incorporates the same DetailMax Engine found in the flagship OnePlus 15. The rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera offering a 112-degree field of view. The rear cameras support up to 4K video recording at 120fps, along with cinematic, multi-view, and zoom video modes. For selfies and video calls, the device features a 32-megapixel front camera capable of recording 4K videos at 30 frames per second. 

Connectivity options on the OnePlus 15R include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C, and comprehensive satellite navigation support, including GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. The smartphone is equipped with a wide range of sensors, including proximity, ambient light, colour temperature, E-compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, and an infrared remote control.

In India, the OnePlus 15R is priced at Rs. 47,999 for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the higher-end model with 512GB storage is priced at Rs. 52,999. Pre-orders for the device are now open, with general availability beginning next week. Additionally, the company is offering bank discounts for Axis Bank and HDFC Bank cardholders, reducing the effective prices to Rs. 44,999 and Rs. 47,999, respectively. 

The smartphone will officially go on sale in India on December 22 at 12:00 PM IST through Amazon, the OnePlus India online store, and select offline retail partners. The OnePlus 15R is available in Charcoal Black, Mint Breeze, and Electric Violet colour variants.
