Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was launched in the 'Unpacked 2016' event today and is finally here. There were lots of leaked images and specs came out before the official launch. But now we finally know all the official features and hardware specs of Samsung Galaxy Note 7
It comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor in USA and with octa-core Exynos 8890 processor in rest of the world. The Snapdragon version comes with Adreno 530 GPU and the Exynos one comes with Mali-T880 MP12 GPU.
It was expected that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will come with 6GB of RAM but surprisingly it comes with 4GB of RAM only. The internal storage is 64GB and it is expandable up to 256GB using the microSD card. The device runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and there is planned upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat OS as well.
The dual curved Super AMOLED capacitive screen is 5.7-inches in size and comes with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, 518 ppi pixel density and 78.0% screen-to-body ratio. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection provided on the screen and back panel as well.
Talking about the imaging part, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with a Dual Pixel 12MP primary camera with f/1.7, 26mm, phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization. It is capable of simultaneous 4K video recording with 9MP image capturing, touch focus, face and smile detection, Auto HDR, dual-video recording. The 5 MP front camera comes with dual video call and Auto HDR.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is IP68 certified which means it is dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. There is iris scanner with fingerprint scanner provided for improved security. There is also barometer, SpO2 and heart rate sensors are included in the device.
The new S-Pen also comes with new and nice features like you can create GIFs using it, translate words in images, magnify the content on screen, write down notes without unlocking the screen and the S Pen is now water and dust resistant too, just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 itself.
