Asus has officially announced today that its upcoming flagship gaming smartphone ROG Phone 2 will be the first smartphone to come with the Qualcomm's newly announced Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.

As the name suggests, the new 855 Plus processor is very much similar to the Snapdragon 855 processor but it will come with higher clocks and better GPU. Snapdragon 855 Plus will be running at 2.96GHz compared to 2.84GHz of Snapdragon 855 bringing nearly 4.2% improvement in CPU performance.

But as a gaming smartphone, GPU performance is more important for Asus ROG Phone II. The Adreno 640 GPU in the Snapdragon 855 Plus will provide 15% faster speed performance compared to the Adreno 640 GPU on Snapdragon 855.

It was also recently revealed that Asus ROG Phone 2 will come with 30W fast battery charging.

ROG Phone II is expected to be launched on July 23. Once officially announced, we will find out all hardware specs and features of the device.
