OPPO has showcased its 5G state-of-the art technological advancements and a host of innovations in device charging, 5G connectivity and smart technology at the Mobile World Congress, Shanghai 2021.

The MWCS guests can get up close to the OPPO X 2021 concept phone, which features a screen that unrolls from 6.7 to 7.4 inches, showcasing the latest screen form advancements in the mobile industry.  To compliment the futuristic technologies, OPPO also demonstrated it Wireless Air Charging innovation which uses magnetic resonance technology to begin charging as soon as the phone is within 10cm of its charging mat, with up to 7.5W of charging power.

Also launched was The Flash Initiative, a new era in mobile charging technology based around OPPO’s pioneering VOOC flash charging, which OPPO has developed alongside FAW-Volkswagen, Anker and NXP Semiconductors, leaders in their respective fields of automobiles, portable charging and chip manufacture. The Flash Initiative was born from OPPO’s commitment to make consumers’ lives as easy as possible, as it takes its groundbreaking IP beyond consumer’s phone chargers at home, expanding to cars, public spaces and chips inside a wide variety of technologies. As part of the initiative OPPO has applied for more than 2,950 flash charging patents worldwide, with over 1,400 already granted.

OPPO also used the opportunity of the MWC to demonstrate how it is expanding its portfolio beyond mobile phones to embrace wider smart technology. It has invested heavily in R&D to develop frontier technologies and create unparalleled products including its 5G CPE Omni, a futuristic technology that converts the 5G mobile signal into a stable Wi-Fi connection. The super high-speed WI-FI can support the Internet of Things (IoT) in the smart home of the future, from cloud-based gaming that doesn’t require a console, to home energy management, limitless video communication and virtualized data storage.

OPPO also featured its cutting-edge 125W flash charger on the stand which can charge a 4000mAh phone battery to 100% in just 20 minutes, together with an O-Reserve 5G antenna system which automatically ensures the best possible signal and O-Motion 360° technology that can fully rotate its antennae for the CPE’s optimum 5G millimeter wave signal reception. OPPO and Ericsson recently completed successful tests of 5G millimeter wave technology with the 5G CPE Omni, achieving downlink speeds of 4.06Gbps.

OPPO has its sights set on a connected future. Over half its business is dedicated to exploring exciting new technologies like AI, IoT and Big Data. Its success at the MWC has shown the future is in a multi-portal smart device ecosystem and that OPPO is determined to be at the forefront, making innovation challenges a reality.
