Autoplay in Windows is a nice and annoying feature. Whenever you connect an external drive to the USB port or insert a disc in the drive of the computer then, it detects the content and a pop-up window appears which asks you to perform a task. It seems good in the beginning but later, it can be very annoying. But you can disable the Autoplay from the method given below and get rid of this problem.

HOW TO : Disable Autoplay Of USB and CD

1. Click on the START and then RUN

2. Type gpedit.msc , which will open a Group Policy window to the screen.

3. Now select the Computer Configuration\Administrative Template\System

4. Now you can see an option in the right side panel called “Turn off Autoplay”. Now double click this option, and set the button to Enabled, and change the “Turn off Autoplay on” to All Drives.

Now, you can enjoy your computer without an annoying Autoplay pop-up window while connecting an external drive or disc.
