Mobile World Congress started with a bang when Samsung and LG both launched their flagship devices on the evening of MWC 2016. Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in Samsung’s Unboxing 2016 event and LG launched the G5 in Barcelona.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge both are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. On the imaging side, both sports the 12 MP Dual Pixel primary camera that comes f/1.7 lens, Smart OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and 2160p video recording. For the selfie lovers, there is 5 MP front facing camera provided too.

Both devices support the fast wireless changing. For the connectivity, there is optional dual-SIM support with hybrid slot that also works as memory card slot. There is NFC + MST for Samsung Pay and microUSB 2.0 connectivity too. Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, both devices are IP68 certified water resistance beyond 1.5m for 30 min.

The difference between these two devices is in terms of screen size and battery capacity. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is having bigger 3,600 mAh battery and curved 5.5-inch screen, while Galaxy S7 comes with 3,000 mAh battery and 5.1-inch screen size. The screen resolution is same for both devices i.e 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.
