HTC has finally announced its latest flagship device HTC U 11 in an media event held today in its headquarter at Taipei, Taiwan.
HTC U 11 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU and it will be running on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS along with the latest version of the HTC Sense UI. It features a 5.5 inch WQHD screen that is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 .
Depending on the amount of RAM and internal storage, there will be two variants of the device – 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage. In Middle East, only the high-end 6GB RAM variant will be available.
On the imaging side, there is 12MP UltraPixel third generation primary camera provided that is capable of 4K video recording along with newly introduced and unique features like 3D audio recording and Acoustic Focus feature.
The 16MP front-facing camera can record 1080p Full HD videos and also records 3D audio in videos. It also supports the panorama in selfie mode. HTC U 11 is claimed to have the highest ever DXOMark score i.e 90 and so the camera capability can be expected to be of top notch.
HTC U 11 comes with IP67 certification for being water and dust resistance. The glass back is having the Liquid Surface technology used in HTC U Ultra and U Play earlier that reflects the light and changes the color of the back panel.
HTC U 11 features the next generation of USonic technology and comes with Active Noise Cancellation. There is also HTC’s latest BoomSound technology used in the HTC U 11. There is no 3.5mm audio port provided though.
But the most highlighted and innovative feature of HTC U 11 is the Edge Sense. The bezel of the device is pressure sensitive and works on the pressure applied by user in the form of squeeze. There are two level of pressure type that can be used in HTC U 11 – squeeze and squeeze & hold. User can then perform various tasks and customize it as well. Edge Sense let user customize the pressure sensitivity and assign tasks to each kind of squeeze.
