After the months of wait and leaks, Huawei has today announced the Huawei Mate 20 series of smartphones.
Huawei Mate 20 Series consists of four devices, one more than the usual lineup of three smartphones in a flagship series of Huawei. They are HUAWEI Mate 20, HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro, HUAWEI Mate 20 X and PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate 20 RS.
Huawei Mate 20 Series is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980, the most powerful SoC currently available and comes with 7nm process, Cortex-A76 architecture based CPU, Mali-G76 GPU and 128 GB storage.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with 6.39” curved OLED 1440p resolution HDR display and Huawei Mate 20 features a 6.53” flat LCD screen with 1080p resolution. The Pro version comes with the new 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge and 15W HUAWEI Wireless Quick Charge while the regular variant comes with 22.5W SuperCharge and no wireless charging.
Another difference between the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro is that the Pro variant comes with 3D Face ID sensor, in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, IP68 waterproofing while all these are missing on the regular variant. But Mate 20 comes with 3.5mm audio jack and a rear fingerprint scanner.
The Matrix tri-rear camera setup comes with the combination of ultra-wide, wide and telephoto lens that allows users to capture wider shots and also macro shots from as close as an inch distance.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with 40MP Quad Bayer sensor with f/1.8 wide-angle lens, a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and an 8MP 80mm f/2.2 telephoto camera while Huawei Mate 20 features a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 lens, 16MP camera with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and an 8MP 52mm f/2.4 telephoto lens. Both devices got a 24MP front facing camera.
The back of the Mate 20 series smartphones comes with Hyper Optical Pattern on the glass back to create nice effect. HUAWEI Mate 20 Series comes with the Android 9 Pie OS with EMUI 9 on top of it.

Both Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be available in Emerald Green, Midnight Blue, Twilight, Pink Gold, Black color options. The price of Huawei Mate 20 for 4GB RAM variant is 799 Euros and the 6GB RAM version will cost 849 Euro.
The price of Huawei Mate 20 Pro is 1049 Euros and the price of Huawei Mate 20 Porsche Design for 256 GB storage is 1,695 Euros and the 512 GB storage variant will be available at 2,095 Euros.
