Mobile World Congress 2016 is going at its peak and lots of interesting gadgets and devices are being launched. HP surprised the tech world by launching a flagship smartphone with high-end specs. Since HP is popular for its PC, laptops, printers, peripherals etc., it was pretty unexpected and surprising to see HP launching a high-end smartphone and that also with Windows 10 OS instead of following the Android craze.

HP Elite X3 is a Windows 10 smartphone that comes with the popular Continuum feature and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage and a microSD card slot provided as well for expanding the memory.

HP Elite X3 : Full Hardware Specs, Features, Price and Review

HP Elite x3 sports a big 5.96-inch WQHD AMOLED display with 1440×2560 pixels resolution and it is protected by the Gorilla Glass 4. There is 16MP primary camera and 8MP front facing camera provided for imaging purpose.

There is also lots of fancy high-end features like fingerprint scanner, iris scanner, wireless charging, IP67 certified water resistance etc. to make it a real flagship device. The battery capacity is 4,150mAh. HP Elite X3 will be available with two accessories - Desk Dock and Mobile Extender.

The Desk Dock is a display dock similar to Microsoft’s Display Dock and it comes with a Display Port, two USB Type-A, one USB Type-C, and RJ-45 ethernet port to use the Windows 10’s Continuum feature. Once the connections are made, a secondary screen converts into a Windows 10 PC

The Mobile Extender is an accessory to convert your HP Elite X3 into a laptop It comes with a battery, a 12.5-inch full-HD display and a keyboard. Obviously, it is not having any processor of its own and requires HP Elite x3 for this purpose. This is very similar to the NexDock, an upcoming gadget that uses Windows 10 Mobile handsets to convert them into a laptop.
