Nokia 8 was in news since last few months as the leaked images and information related to the device were constantly coming out. And now HMD Global has finally announced the Nokia 8 smartphone at an event in London.
Following most of the previously leaked information regarding the device, Nokia 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. HMD Global promises monthly Android security update for the device and Nokia 8 will also receive the upcoming Android O update.
Nokia 8 comes with a 5.3-inch Quad HD screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, full aluminium unibody design, fingerprint sensor, barometer sensor and a 3,010 mAh battery with fast charging technology.
On the imaging side, there is 13-megapixel dual camera setup on the back of the device that comes with ZEISS optics and optical image stabilization. One of them is RGB sensor and the second one is a monochrome sensor for dedicated black and white photography as we are seeing in Huawei’s flagship smartphones since last few years. On the front side, there is a 13MP autofocus camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and wide angle lens.
Nokia 8 camera comes with new features as well. It features a Dual-Sight technology, called as Bothie by Nokia Mobile, that uses both front and back cameras at the same time splitting the screen in two showing images and videos from both cameras together.
With the help of three microphones, Nokia OZO spatial 360-degree audio is created in Nokia 8 as we have seen similar technology earlier on HTC U11. Nokia acoustic technology algorithms captures the sound in great detail and quality and playback on the compatible devices and platforms like Nokia 8, YouTube etc. Nokia 8 camera also let user broadcast live directly to Facebook and YouTube right from the camera app.
