Design and Build Quality

One of the key advantages of the Mojawa Run Plus Bone Conduction Earphones is their unique design. They sit just in front of your ears, resting on top of the cheekbones and transmitting sound through vibrations. This design allows you to hear both your music and ambient sounds, ensuring that you remain aware of potential hazards or interactions with others while exercising outdoors.

Comfort is another area where the Mojawa Run Plus Earphones excel. They are lightweight and stay securely in place during physical activities. The open-ear design eliminates the discomfort often associated with traditional earbuds, making them suitable for extended wear. Additionally, they are IP68 dust and water-resistant, so you don't have to worry about damage or discomfort during intense workouts. Because of the waterproof design, you can bring it underwater up to 2 meters for 2 hours. It features a flexible titanium aloy frame that is very lightweight and flexible.

On the downside, bone conduction technology does have its limitations. While it allows you to hear ambient sounds, it also means that the audio quality can be affected in noisy environments. If you're in a crowded or loud setting, you may need to increase the volume to compensate, which can reduce battery life. But for that, Mojawa provides the solution by the earplugs given in the box. We will talk about its usage below.

The extended part that sits on the user's head where you will find all the functionality for the Run Plus. On the left side, we got a multi-functional button that can be used to switch between the audio tracks, power on-off the device, select Bluetooth or MP3 mode etc. On the right side, we got a touchpad on which we can slide up and down to control the volume levels.

Both the touchpad and multi-functional button work perfectly and the tactile click and sound of the button give clear indication and acknowledgment of the command performed. The 32GB internal storage allows you to store music on the device. So you can listen to music on your Mojawa Run Plus without the need of your smartphone around.

Sound Quality

The sound quality provided by these earphones is surprisingly good considering the unconventional design. The audio is clear and balanced, though the bass might lack some punch compared to traditional in-ear or over-ear headphones. However, if you prioritize situational awareness over booming bass, these earphones deliver a satisfying listening experience.

But the solution to this is the provided earplugs. Once you put the earplugs in, because of the blockage of the ear canal and the sounds resonate. It creates a huge increase in bass and volume as well. You will feel like listening to music on premium over-ear headphones with earplugs. Though I will not use the earplugs while using the Run Plus in outdoors as it will reduce situational awareness and will kill the sole purpose of the product, I will happily use it on a flight or when I am in a crowded place like coffee shop etc.

The same earplug effect happens when you use the Run Plus underwater. Because of the higher density of the water compared to air, the sound quality - volume and bass, increases a lot providing a great listening experience while swimming.

Battery Life

The battery life of the Mojawa Run Plus Earphones is impressive, providing up to 8 hours of continuous playback on a single charge with its 150mAh battery. At full volume, I received a little more than 6 hours. Charging is simple with the included magnetic USB cable, and the earphones also have a quick charge feature that gives you an hour of use with just a 15-minute charge. This is a convenient feature for those times when you forget to charge them overnight and need to bring the earphones for a quick run.

Conclusion

Overall, the Mojawa Run Plus Bone Conduction Earphones are an excellent option for individuals who value situational awareness during their workouts. They provide good sound quality, a comfortable fit, and a long-lasting battery. While they may not satisfy audiophiles or bass enthusiasts, the unique bone conduction technology makes them a compelling choice for outdoor activities where safety is a priority.
