The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is an impressive smartphone that has a lot of people wondering if they should jump on the bandwagon and purchase the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. This phone boasts the longest-lasting battery life out of any smartphone on the block (up to 21 hours of talk time on one single charge), and who doesn't want more battery life? Plus, this super-thin phone is very attractive, and it is chock-full of the same features as the original roid Razr, but it is reinforced with Gorilla Glass and encased in the strongest material for durability.

With all of these great features, it seems like a no brainer to go out and purchase one, right? Wrong. Before you go out and buy a Droid Razr Maxx, there are a few things you need to know.

Why You Should Not Buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx

Three Reasons for Not Buying the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx

1. Old Android Version

The Droid Razr Maxxcurrently runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of the elusive 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Motorola and Verizon Wireless have commented that Ice Cream Sandwich will be available for the Droid Razr Maxx in the future. Without Ice Cream Sandwich, your fancy Droid Razr Maxx will lack the cool features that come with the new software. And with no upgrade launch date set yet, nobody knows for sure when it will be available. Make sure that you can survive with only utilizing Gingerbread before you go and buy the Droid Razr Maxx. If older software is a deal breaker, this may not be the phone for you.

2. It Takes a Very Long Time to Charge

The oversized lithium-ion battery that allows the Droid Razr Maxx to boast such a long-lasting lifespan needs to be charged, and it doesn't charge as quickly as other regular-sized batteries. To travel from 0% to 100% of a charge, it could take up to four hours. If you charge your phone overnight, this probably will not be an issue to you, but if you tend to charge and run out quickly, you may find it hard to get back to a full 100%.

3. Poor Camera Quality

Numerous customers have complained that the camera on the Droid Razr Maxx is less than desirable. Some complain that pictures don't save correctly (or at all) while others have mentioned that you cannot take pictures in low light and expect them to turn out. If you love taking pictures with your phone, this may be a deal breaker for you. But if the camera is the last thing you care about on your phone, then this will not impact you at all.

Like any purchase, you really need to do your research and weigh your pros and cons before spending the money. Yes, the Droid Razr Maxx has a very impressive battery life, and this could be enough to sway you to make the purchase. But with the long-lasting battery comes a few sacrifices. Make sure to research the phone first to know if it is the right fit for you.
