Along with the HTC U Ultra, HTC also launched the more affordable version in U series as HTC U Play. As expected, it comes with lower hardware specs and fits in the mid-range segment of the smartphones.
HTC U Play comes with a 5.2 inches full HD screen and 1080 x 1920 pixels resolutions. There is a no secondary display provided in HTC U Play like the HTC U Ultra. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS and powered by the Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 octa-core processor.
On the imaging side, there is 16 MP primary camera with 1080p full HD video recording capability. On the front side, there is a 16 MP camera provided as well for taking selfies and video calling.
It comes with 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB internal storage. The microSD card slot can be used to expand memory and it supports up to 256 GB of memory card. There is a fingerprint sensor provided on the front in the Home key and there is no 3.5mm audio jack provided like the previously launched HTC Bolt, HTC U Ultra and HTC 10 Evo smartphones.
