1. Click on the search bar on Windows 10 Preview.

2. Click on the hamburger icon ( three parallel lines ) on the top left corner to open the Cortana menu.

3. Now, click on the “Settings” option.

4. Scroll down and click on the slider next to 'Let Cortana respond when you say "Hey Cortana" option to turn it on.

5. Click on the “Learn My Voice” button to train Cortana to recognize your voice, speaking style and pattern. After clicking the button, speak the sentences Cortana provides to you.

6. You can also click on the “Change My Name” button to change or set your name for Cortana and then Cortana will call you by that name when you ask her a question.

Now, the voice activated search of Cortana will be activated on Windows 10 Preview.

One interesting thing about the Cortana on Windows 10 Technical Preview is that it acts on one full complete sentence instantly instead of getting activated first by “Hey Cortana” like the Windows Phone version. So you can just say “Hey Cortana, how is the weather?” to get the result instead of saying “Hey Cortana” first and then asking the question.
